About Tera

I'm excited you're here! 

My name is Tera Coughlin. I'm a wife, a mother of two and a Kansas City native. 

I'm a lover of friends, all styles of denim, funky accessories, vintage finds and good wine. I'm pretty much obsessed with all things STYLISH!

Right after attending Northwest Missouri State University, I left the comforts of the Midwest and moved East. My heart called me to the fashion industry. I knew my business and love for style would grow exponentially in NYC. 

While getting on my feet, I began working right away at the NYC-hotspot, The Soho Grand Hotel. Little did I know, this job would become a networking opportunity among celebrities, musicians, and fashion designers helping me quickly find my place within the industry.

I took an internship at Aeffe Group, a company that creates and distributes a collection of some of the major fashion houses. While there, I crossed paths with NYC-based accessories mogul R.J. Graziano and was offered the coveted position as his sales and PR director. It was at R.J. Graziano that I gained hands-on experience with design and production of jewelry, as well as styling photoshoots for editorial giants such as Vogue, InStyle, Cosmopolitan and People Magazine.

In the midst of living my dream, I also met my husband. Planning to spend our lives together and start a family, we decided to return to my roots here in Kansas City. 

Coming home afforded me the opportunity to continue my love for helping others cultivate their own aesthetic at Standard Style, via upscale collections curated by famed KC design duo, Matt and Emily Baldwin. 

I chose to spend more time at home with my two children, but continued to style clients and organizing their personal space-THE CLOSET!

From a young age, I have always had a huge drive for fashion and organization. I vividly remember starting my sixth grade year consistently keeping a calendar to jot down my daily wardrobe, no chance was I wearing the same outfit more than once, while also helping others create their own wardrobe.
